Change taskbar icon

Jun 28, 2011 at 4:44 PM

I can change the icon of the generated installer exe (with the InstallerLinker) and it displays nicely in the Windows Explorer.

But when I start the installer there is still the ugly standard document icon appearing in the Windows taskbar. How can I change that too?

It's probably a bug (or a non-feature). But I have seen this work, which makes me think that it could be a problem with your icon (missing a resolution?).

I've also tried an icon from the dotNetInstaller samples. This didn't work also.

The icon which i am using has all thinkable resolutions embedded:

256x256 (RGBA and 256 Colors)

128x128 (RGBA)

96x96 (RGBA)

64x64 (RGBA)

48x48 (RGBA, 256, 16 and Mono Colors)

32x32 (RGBA, 256 and 16 Colors)

16x16 (RGBA, 256 and 16 Colors)

I used Axialis IconWorkshop to create it.

Doh!

It's all ok with DotNetInstaller.

I have a complete_command pointing to an additional custom bootstrapper i need for my application. This gets executed immediately by DotNetInstaller when the prerequisites are installed (i use ui_level silent). This EXE didn't have an embedded icon.
