Checks for Configurations

Checks are designed to be used for Components. But can they be used for Configurations too?

If a check for a component evaluates to true, the component is installed, otherwise is uninstalled. If the check verifies the already installed version, and the version is a newer one (newer than the current version), the check evaluates to false (I don't want to downgrade) so the bootstrapper offers to uninstall the component (which is not possible using an older msi). The desired behaviour in this situation is not to show the component at all. Uninstall is possible only if the very same version is installed. So I want to use an extra check at Configuration level and if a newer version is detected then disable (don't show) the configuration at all. Is this possible?

That's a nice feature request. Probably lots of work.
