Dear All,
I have 2 msis as part of my 2.0 bootstrapper. Whenever the installation fails for whatever reason, I am gettting "Failed to install "component"".
I want to show the exact error message that msi is throwing instead of generalizing it with a common "Failed to install %s".

i am using dotinstaller for making exe of two msi files, all reboot options are false butt reboot dialog appears for few moment and vanishsuddenly and rboot the system, after rebooting setup installation againg started , my auto restart property is also false.
any body help me please to stop this dialog untill user press yes or no

It seems I'm having the same issue with one of my products, where I first require the installation of certain .NET packages, database drivers and hardware key drivers and then want to give the user three options of components from our house. Using dotnetinstaller 1.06 and 1.10 it worked ok, but since upgrading to 2.0 (and tested with same result in 2.1) the items not being marked as "required" are considered ok even if they are not installed. (Refer to log lines marked in red below)

Thus the state switches to uninstall. Alternatively, if none of the products is configured to support uninstall, the install state remains, but the messagebox just says "Product is already installed", and effectively the user is never given the opportunity to select among my three options.

--- Is this a bug or a misconfiguration from myself and the OP? ---

The three options i want to offer are

optional: install main product
1. if product not already installed: fresh install using the msi component
2. if product of same base version is installed: execute the msi differently, to force upgrade of the product
optional: install a related product, a separate msi, regardless if the main product is installed

Unfortunately, no, setup still crushes. (used dotnetinstaller 2.1.528, i assume that this fix was in that build)

I would like to create an installation package which would install my system along with its

pre-requisites. I followed the instruction given on this article http://geekswithblogs.net/JaydPage/archive/2011/03/31/configuring-dotnetinstaler-2.0-to-install-custom-prerequisites-and-then-run.aspx however I want to know how I can attach the exe files which I need to be installed along with the system i've developed how do you go about this . I expected that maybe there would be a path to put in something like : c:/myfolder/myPrerequisite.exe.b but instead I found something like "#APPPATH\presetup\CRRuntime_32bit_13_0_2.exe" /norestart /quiet

Again, it's not a regression. It only works one way, but fails for the other 50% of the cases. We need a new option like "auto_close_if_installed_required" or something like that. It's not trivial to implement, I invite you to do it.

Hi, I am new to dotnetInstaller. I want to check the directory path in ProgramFiles folder i.e., Program Files and Program Files (x86) on Win 7 32 & 64 bit. Fixed crash when WaitForSingleObject returns nonsignaled member when Start() and End() were called quickly in succession causing pointers to be deleted while a dependent thread is still running.
